Instructions
How to cook ham
Score the ham with a sharp knife about 1/8 inch deep in a diamond checkered pattern.
Place cloves were each slice crosses or in the middle of each diamond. (optional)
Cover the ham well with foil.
Follow directions on ham packaging or heat precooked ham in 325 °F oven for 10-18 minutes per pound, or until a meat thermometer reads 135 °F. Fresh hams cook for 22-40 minutes per pound and must reach a 145 °F internal temperature.
Combined Ham Glaze ingredients in bowl while ham cooks.
Last 15-Minutes
During the last 15 minutes of baking, remove ham from oven and generously coat ham with 1/2 - 3/4 of glaze mixture depending on size of ham. You can also pin Maraschino Cherries and Pineapple slices to the ham with water soaked toothpicks at this time for decoration.
Bake uncovered for remaining 15 minutes or to desired caramelization.
Let rest for 10-15 minutes.
Slice and serve with remaining glaze.
