- 6 pound Bone-in ham, fully cooked Spiral if desired
- Whole Cloves Optional
- 1 jar Maraschino Cherries Optional for decoration
- 1 can Sliced Pineapples Optional for decoration
- Toothpicks Optional for decoration
Ham Glaze Ingredients
- 3/4 cup Light Brown Sugar 3/4
- 3/4 cup Maple Syrup 3/4
- 3/4 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon 3/4
- 1/2 teaspoon Ground Allspice 1/2
- 3 tablespoons Dijon Mustard
- 1/4 cup Honey 1/4
- 1 tablespoon Grenadine Syrup
- 1 tablespoon Spiced Rum Brandy can be used as alternative
Instructions
How to cook ham
- Score the ham with a sharp knife about 1/8 inch deep in a diamond checkered pattern.
- Place cloves were each slice crosses or in the middle of each diamond. (optional)
- Cover the ham well with foil.
- Follow directions on ham packaging or heat precooked ham in 325 °F oven for 10-18 minutes per pound, or until a meat thermometer reads 135 °F. Fresh hams cook for 22-40 minutes per pound and must reach a 145 °F internal temperature.
- Combined Ham Glaze ingredients in bowl while ham cooks.
Last 15-Minutes
- During the last 15 minutes of baking, remove ham from oven and generously coat ham with 1/2 – 3/4 of glaze mixture depending on size of ham. You can also pin Maraschino Cherries and Pineapple slices to the ham with water soaked toothpicks at this time for decoration.
- Bake uncovered for remaining 15 minutes or to desired caramelization.
- Let rest for 10-15 minutes.
- Slice and serve with remaining glaze.
